For your business

Banking Circle on your bank statement.

Banking Circle explains on its own site why companies see its name on statements: a payment company they use holds their money there. Three things to check:

  • Read the IBAN

Accounts on Banking Circle often have a Luxembourg, German or Danish IBAN even when the app is based elsewhere, as at Vivid Business and Phoenix Payments.

  • Know what is protected

Payment companies keep customers' money in safeguarded accounts at Banking Circle. Safeguarded money is kept apart from the company's own, but it is not a deposit.

  • Keep a second account

Two apps on the same partner can fail together. A second account issued by a different institution keeps salaries and suppliers paid.

Is Banking Circle a bank?

Yes. Banking Circle S.A. is a bank licensed in Luxembourg by the CSSF (bank number LUB00000408), with branches in Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Norway, the UK and the Czech Republic.
