Privacy policy

What personal information Finzil collects, why, and what you can do about it.

Who we are

Finzil is a website that helps businesses find, compare and contact regulated financial providers. It is operated by QKUMO LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom, which is the controller of the personal information described here. In this policy, "Finzil", "we" and "us" mean QKUMO LTD.

For any question about this policy or your information, write to privacy@finzil.com.

Information we collect

You can read the site without creating an account or giving us your name.

  • Information you send us. When you fill in a form, such as the "Find my options" questionnaire or a newsletter sign-up, we collect what you enter: typically your name, work email, company name, the country where the company is registered, where its owners live, its industry, and the services it needs.
  • Technical information. Our hosting provider records the requests your browser makes: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use this to keep the site running and secure.
  • Clicks on provider links. When you follow a link from Finzil to a provider, we may record that the link was used. The link tells the provider that the visit came from Finzil. It does not carry your name or contact details.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, identity documents, bank statements, account numbers or passwords.

How we use it and our legal basis

  • To answer your enquiry and show you providers that may fit your business: steps taken at your request, and our legitimate interest in running the service.
  • To introduce you to a provider: only with your consent, given for that introduction.
  • To send a newsletter or updates: with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the link in every email.
  • To keep the site secure and measure how it is used: our legitimate interest in a working, safe service.
  • To meet legal obligations: where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not make decisions about you by automated means that have legal effects.

Who we share it with

  • Service providers that work for us under contract, such as website hosting, form and customer-relationship software, and email delivery. They may use your information only on our instructions.
  • Financial providers, when you ask us to put you in touch. We tell you which provider before we pass anything on. That provider then handles your information under its own privacy policy.
  • Authorities or advisers, where the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site uses what it needs to work, such as remembering a provider you saved in your browser.

We also use an analytics service to count visits and see which pages are read, so we can improve the site. It sets cookies in your browser and records information such as the pages you open, the site you came from, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. We do not use this for advertising, and we do not use advertising cookies. You can block these cookies in your browser settings.

A form supplied by one of our service providers may set a cookie when you submit it, so that your submission is recorded correctly.

Where information is stored

Our service providers may process information outside the country where you live, including in the United States. Where information leaves the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we rely on safeguards recognised by law, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information for as long as we are helping you and for up to 24 months after your last contact, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or the law requires longer. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Server records are kept for a short period by our hosting provider.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of your information;
  • correct it or delete it;
  • restrict or stop our use of it;
  • transfer it to you or another organisation;
  • withdraw a consent you gave.

To use any of these rights, write to privacy@finzil.com. We answer within one month. You can also complain to your data protection authority; in the United Kingdom this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

The site is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18.

Links to other sites

Provider websites and other sites we link to have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for how they handle your information.

Changes

We will post any change on this page and update the date above. If a change is significant and we hold your email address, we will tell you directly.
