The short answer

iGaming affiliates and B2B suppliers are refused more often than they expect, because providers judge them by who pays them. An affiliate paid by casinos is read as a gambling business, and a platform supplier as a gambling facilitator. Of the 203 providers on Finzil, 14 say they serve affiliate marketing, half the 28 that serve iGaming operators. Apply where both your activity and your payers are accepted.

  • 14 providers serve affiliate marketing; 9 of them also serve iGaming (Finzil, October 2026).
  • 6 providers name affiliate or lead-generation businesses on their refusal lists.
  • 51 of 83 provider lists that name gambling refuse it with no exception for licensed businesses.

Why you're read as a gambling business

A compliance team doesn't only look at what you do. It looks at where your money comes from. For an affiliate, almost every incoming payment is from a casino or bookmaker. For a game studio or platform supplier, every customer is an operator. To a provider whose list says "gambling", that is a gambling business, whatever your company description says.

Some lists say so outright. GoSolo refuses gambling including "other ventures that facilitate gambling". Juni is a good example of the trap: it names affiliate marketing among the sectors it serves, and lists gambling as a refusal. A gambling affiliate passes the first test and fails the second.

Three figures from Finzil's data: 28 providers serve iGaming, 14 serve affiliates, 6 refuse affiliates

What the data says

From 203 provider profiles on Finzil, checked in October 2026:

Group Providers What it means for you
Name iGaming as a sector they serve 28 The natural first stop for suppliers with operator customers
Name affiliate marketing as a sector they serve 14 Your starting list if you are an affiliate
Serve both affiliates and iGaming 9 The safest fit for a gambling affiliate
Name affiliate or lead-generation businesses as refused 6 Don't apply as an affiliate
Refuse gambling with no exception for licensed businesses 51 of 83 lists Closed to most affiliates and suppliers too

The nine that serve both are PayDo, Payset, Bankera, FinXP, Skrill Business, Neteller, Lidion Bank, Bank of Valletta and Inxy. Several say so explicitly: Payset lists affiliates next to regulated gambling, FinXP lists affiliate payouts and partner payments, and Bank of Valletta lists marketing affiliates alongside gaming companies.

Affiliates: what changed in 2026

Regulators have started treating promotion as part of the gambling itself.

  • Brazil banned advertising and promotion of betting along with betting itself on 25 September 2026. Commission from Brazilian traffic has stopped, and payments from Brazilian operators now come from businesses whose licences end on 25 October.
  • Poland is debating a bill that would make promoting illegal gambling online a criminal offence, aimed at influencers and affiliates. It had not passed as of October 2026.
  • Licensed operators answer for their affiliates in most regulated markets, so they are asking affiliates for more documents, and providers see that.

For your bank, this means one question above all: are your payers licensed in the markets you send traffic to? An affiliate whose commission comes from licensed operators, for licensed markets, is a much easier customer than one paid by a mix of operators with no clear licences.

Suppliers: the licence you may need

Platform providers, game studios and other suppliers often need their own licence, and providers will ask for it.

  • In the UK, companies that make or supply gambling software to British operators need a Gambling Commission licence of their own.
  • In Malta, suppliers of critical gaming services hold a B2B licence from the Malta Gaming Authority.
  • In other markets, supplier registration or certification is common. Check each market you supply.

A supplier licence works in your favour with providers: it shows a regulator has already checked you. Lead with it.

The pack that gets you through

For affiliates

  1. A list of the operators that pay you, each with its licence and the markets you promote it in.
  2. Your affiliate agreements, or the main ones, showing commission terms.
  3. Commission statements for the last six months, matching the incoming payments.
  4. How you keep traffic out of markets where an operator isn't licensed: geo-targeting, landing pages, compliance checks.
  5. Your website and marketing channels, live and consistent with the description in your application.

For suppliers

  1. Your supplier licences, with register links.
  2. A customer list by operator and market, with each customer's licence.
  3. Sample contracts and invoices.
  4. Expected volumes by currency.

Our view: describe yourself the way a stranger would. "Performance marketing for licensed online casinos in the UK and Ontario" gets a straight answer. "Digital marketing agency" gets a yes, and then a closure when the first casino payment arrives.
