For your business

Your foreign-currency account may run on Currencycloud.

Several accounts on Finzil use Currencycloud for currencies other than their own. Three things to check:

  • Look at the BIC

Currencycloud's UK BIC is TCCLGB3L. If your EUR or USD account details show it, that money sits with Currencycloud, not with the app.

  • Know what is protected

Currencycloud is an e-money institution. Money held there is safeguarded, kept apart from Currencycloud's own, but not covered by a deposit guarantee.

  • Keep a second account

Two apps on the same partner can fail together. A second account issued by a different institution keeps salaries and suppliers paid.

FAQ

Your questions, answered.

Can my company open an account with Currencycloud?

No. Currencycloud sells to banks, fintechs and FX brokers, and every “Get started” button leads to a sales form. Businesses use it through an account built on it, such as bunq Business or ANNA Money.

Who owns Currencycloud?

Visa. Its pages call it “a Visa solution”, and its US and Australian services are provided by Visa companies.

Is money held with Currencycloud protected?

Currencycloud is an e-money institution in the UK and the Netherlands. Customer money is safeguarded, which keeps it separate from Currencycloud's own. It is not a bank deposit and is not covered by the FSCS or a deposit guarantee scheme.
